The Village Hall celebrated its centenary in 2011 with a Summer Fayre and dinner. A photo of the Hall's inauguration was presented to the current Hall Committee and now hangs in the kitchen
Maintenance
As with many old buildings we have on-going maintenance issues. The original windows were replaced in February 2015 and we are currently undertaking work to the lath & plaster inside the hall to repair some water damage. The floor joists at the western end of the hall were replaced in 2015/2016.
Extended in 2004, the hall's facilities include:
dressing rooms and showers for two football sides
male, female and accessible toilets
a large kitchen with cooker, fridge and freezer
a large capacity hall (with an extendable stage)
a fibre broadband connection - WiFi
Guildtown Village Hall Committee is keen to make the hall as sustainable as possible:
We have a heating system that combines a ground source heat pump and solar thermal panels.
The hall's kitchen and changing rooms are well insulated and have under floor heating, and
we are exploring the best way to increase the amount of insulation within the original building.
We had a solar PV array installed in 2014.
we installed a Tesla battery wall in 2018
This means that the hall is generating a significant proportion of the power we need for heating and lighting.
The charger has 2 bays and outputs 7.0 kW. Details are on the Charge Place Scotland website here.
The charges from our charger raise a little income for the Hall.
Data are from Charge Place Scotland and date from when SWARCO took over the contract in September 2021.
Please note: as of March 2023 the tariff per kWh:
30pWe don't have an online form or calendar for booking the hall at present:
