As at February 2022, Scone Palace has started a process to investigate options for developing the field to the west of the A93 that they own:
In preparation for the next Local Development Plan review, Scone Estate plan to consult with the community of Guildtown over the use of Estate land adjacent to the village to the west. Scone has an area of land which is already within the settlement boundary and could be brought forward but since this next Local Development Plan will cover a 10 year period rather than the current 5 years, Scone considers that it would be better to look at the wider area and see what might be needed in the village in the longer term. The Estate plan to discuss with the community what the possible future needs of the village might be over this period and beyond so that this can be planned with involvement by residents and businesses. There are plans to hold an event with the whole community which will involve discussion groups looking at a range of topics relating to the future of the village. The extent of any future development will be decided through discussions with the community.
An information leaftet is due to be distributed to village households the week of May 29, 2022.
Information received by the Guildtown Hall & Playingfields Committee will be published here.
Local builders Stephens are currently building the second of their sites for which planning permission was granted in 2007.
The first development encompassed 20 houses (mainly bungalows) to the west of Oakbank Road at the north end of the village. Building was completed around 2016 The Perth & Kinross Council planning details for that development are here.
The larger development to the east of the football pitch was originally the first planning application made - but ground was only broken in 2021.
This stage originally involved 65 houses - though there have been some alterations made to the initial planning application.
Stephen's original planning application details are available on the Perth & Kinross website here.
